Day 1: A positioning day from the top of the Jungfraujoch train, easily down the glacier then a 500m skin over a pass at 3820m.
A peak bagger's dream which puts you on top some of the best-known and most beautiful mountains in Switzerland.
This is a high altitude tour across huge glaciers and should be treated with respect, but if you get good weather and snow conditions, it's a fabulous tour of wild, wonderful mountains. You don't have to follow the exact schedule we've suggested because there are plenty of huts in the area and you can alter your itinerary according to conditions.
The adventure begins on the Jungfraujoch train which has featured in many famous mountaineering stories and which goes right through the middle of the Eiger. From there the iconic peaks just keep on coming, as do the welcoming and spectacular mountain huts.
All in all, this is rightly a classic tour amongst some of the most storied and picturesque mountains in the World.
Day 1: A positioning day from the top of the Jungfraujoch train, easily down the glacier then a 500m skin over a pass at 3820m.
Day 2: Two summits of 4000m that can easily be combined in a single outing.
Day 3: The largest summit in the Bernese Oberland and the 15th highest major 4000m peak in the Alps.
Day 4: This is a long distance journey to relocate to beneath the Aletschhorn. NOTE THE OLD BIVI HUT HERE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED BY AVALANCHE JAN '19 SO THERE IS NO HUT ANY MORE
Day 5: The easiest, though not easy, route to one of the remotest and most coveted 4000m peaks in the Alps. NOTE: THE MITTELALETSCHBIWAK IS NOW A RUIN. It was destroyed by an avalanche in 2019.
