Description

Home to 666 mountains higher than thousand meters and north of the Arctic Circle, lies Norway´s Troms region. The area is one of the best ski touring destinations in the world.

As well as unbelievable skiing in typical Norwegian terrain - from mountains down to the fjords - you’re also in with a great chance of seeing Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights, if you visit Troms in the winter months.

Tromsø is an Eldorado when it comes to ski touring. The sheer amount of good skiing means it is not always easy to find out which trip is right for you. This is a collection of 10 tours in and around Tromsø that the locals would characterise as some of their favourites.

Adventures

Middagstinden (1006m)

A classic Kvaløya tour, with a little alpine adventure if you would like to reach the very top.

Buren (802m)

The perfect "ski-after-work-mountain", with varied skiing.

Store Hollendaren (1017m)

Store Hollendaren is a very good mountain for skiing, with a long season and opportunities for steep descents.

Storstolpan (974m)

If you want to experience skiing in the midnight sun, this is the perfect peak!

Blåtinden

A wonderful peak with great, low stress skiing and incredible views across the southern part of the Lyngen Peninsula.

Tromsdalstinden

A brilliant peak which dominates the view from the area to the south of it.
