Description

Embrace quintessential Switzerland as you run through lush green pastures and pine forests. Ascend into alpine terrain, with the sounds of cowbells chiming and water coursing down the sides of the mountain filling your ears. Zug is known as a tax haven, but if you look beyond the glistening shores of the Lake Zug, you’ll discover that this place also has a lot to offer those looking for some great runs on the trails. You can find a run whatever your style and mood is, with great variety. Rolling woodlands, hidden streams and crystal clear lakes are all to be discovered in this selection of our favourite trail runs.

There's an amazing diversity amongst these trails - from flat runs in the forest, a scenic, sun-baked jog alongside the lake or a technical run-up in Zugerberg. Without question, the most rewarding and challenging run in here is Wildspitz - this is the highest point of the Canton and the lake sits at 450m so there is a good amount of altitude to be covered!

Regardless of which run you choose, the trails of Zug offer epic views and - certainly compared to much of Switzerland - a wonderful sense of serenity and solitude.
