Description

With the Bernese Oberland peaks and the legendary summits of the Zermatt area close by, it's understandable that the Tour de Soleil is perhaps not as well known as it should be. However, although the mountains here might be overshadowed by some of their neighbours in terms of height, they certainly aren't surpassed anywhere in Switzerland for the quality of skiing they offer.

This tour was once a smuggler's route but nowadays is a civilised affair, passing between beautifully situated and welcoming mountain huts. That said, it still feels pleasantly wild and untamed, as is to be expected in such a peaceful and rugged part of the Swiss Alps.
