Explore One of the World’s 7 Wonders: The Grand Canyon

Explore the best hiking trails in one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World: the Grand Canyon.

Description

The Grand Canyon needs no introduction. One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, the Grand Canyon is one of the most iconic landmarks on the planet. Measuring 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and up to 6,093 feet deep, the scale of the canyon is breathtaking to behold.

It might be surprising, then, that most of the crowds visiting Grand Canyon National Park never venture beyond the rim of the Canyon. While the trails in the Canyon are undoubtedly popular, the further you venture from the pavement the more solitude and adventure you’ll find—along with increasingly-spectacular views!

While we attempted to collect hikes with a range of difficulty into this guidebook, hiking in the Grand Canyon is inherently difficult. Steep trails with massive elevation gain and loss, intense sunlight, brutal heat, and few places to resupply on water mean that venturing into the Canyon under your own power is not an excursion to be taken lightly.

But for those who do undertake the challenge, the reward of experiencing one of the wonders of the world is unparalleled!
