Discover the Best Singletrack Trails off the Elfer Lifte

Stubaital is a famous destination for outdoor mountain activities, from skiing in the winter to hiking and mountain biking in the summer. Neustift im Stubaital is the biggest town in the valley and - like every mid-size Tirolean village - it has its own resort! In winter, three lifts run, offering a couple of nice slopes, while in summer, the gondola runs for bikers, hikers, and paragliders. The view from the top station is amazing: you can admire the whole valley, all the way down to Innsbruck and Patscherkofel peak on the right.

Neustift is a great destination for families and friends looking for a multi-sport holiday, thanks to the many different possibilities here. When it comes to mountain biking, this area is well known for never being as busy as the closest options near the city. It's also known for its shaped but still technical trails, which vary a bit from the average trails you will find around the other Tirolean bike parks. There are two mountain bike trails in this resort: EinsEinser Trail and ZweiZweier Trail. These lines are the perfect mix, combining maintenance and shaping with some technical sections and dirt left on purpose, which makes the ride a little bit more interesting. These two trails are considered two of the most natural in the Innsbruck area, but they still allow you to get into a nice riding flow thanks to the shaped berms and some artificial features.

Both trails are quite similar in terms of style, but they never get boring: you can spend a whole day riding them and aiming to clean the best lines! The two lines share the last section, where the roots, rocks, and tight turns are left behind for some artificial wooden drops and a wallride!

The trails pass by a very cozy mountain hut managed by a very friendly family, where you can enjoy the calmness of the valley and the amazing Tirolean food, served with a cold beer! Don’t get too full, though—one last section still has to be ridden to get back to the car or take a dip in the cold river from the glacier!

Using the same lift that brings the bikers to the entrance of the trail, you will also reach the starting point of the hiking trail, which leads to Elferkogel, the beautiful rocky mountain which stands just above the village. This hike is a pure pleasure for your eyes - you'll enjoy an amazing view of the valley the entire time as you get closer and closer to the peak. The trail follows the ridgeline between North and South, always being gentle and not technical until the very last part, where some medium exposed sections require some more confidence. The Elferkogel is one of the Seven Summits of Stubaital, a collection of hikes up to the most iconic peaks in the area - challenge yourself to climb as many as you can!
