Perched high above the Roman city of Aosta, Pila is a great place for some high speed, low stress freeriding.
With many larger and more famous ski areas surrounding it Pila can slip slightly under the radar, which is great news for anyone who knows about it and has this guidebook to show them around.
The skiing in the resort is generally quite mellow but there are some steeper sections and you'll need to be well versed in the avalanche conditions before heading off piste. Once you do get underway, expect fun terrain, good snow and an amazing view across the Aosta valley.
