An atmospheric and wild-feeling hike through Tirol's finest mountains.
2 of Tirol's best known ski areas are also home to some epic hiking which can be reached easily using public transport.
The problem with many hiking areas is that they are inaccessible to those without a car, but that's not an issue with the adventures described here. The excellent Innsbruck bus and tram network provides easy access to Axamer Lizum & Schlick 2000 and as if that wasn't enough, there is an excellent lift system waiting for you in each resort. All but one of the hikes described here uses the lift systems to make the days slightly easier and save you some slogging.
The hikes described here all pass through, around and underneath the Kalkkögel mountains, which are amongst the most spectacular in the Alps. By the time you've completed these 4 day hikes you will know these peaks well and will likely be inspired to explore them further.
2 of the hikes here also enjoy excellent views of the Stubai valley, one of the most legendary areas in Austria. For those seeking a challenge, the "Stubai Seven Summits" is a great way to explore the valley, and we've got the guidebook for it right here!
