Description

With all the ski resorts in the Lake Tahoe area, it can be easy to spend all your time just skiing the lifts (and if you want to do that we've got a couple of guidebooks for you below) but there's some fabulous touring in the area for those willing to put in a bit of effort.

One of these ski tours is lift accessed but the others are all done entirely with human power and are all the better for it. To be moving through these amazing mountains with nobody else around is truly a special experience.

When you've ticked these routes off and are ready for an improved effort:reward ratio then check out our guidebooks to some of the freeriding in the Tahoe area -
