With long, hot summers and cool, crisp shoulder seasons, Kelowna is a wonderful town from which to hike. There's only a couple of months per year where snow makes it almost impossible to find a fun hike, so if your kids are itching to get into the great outdoors, you can get started whenever you want!

The hikes we've listed here are all short (the longest one - Paul's Tomb is only 6.4km but can easily be halved) and easy to access. You won't need a 4x4 to get to any of the trailheads, and all can be reached within 15 minutes of leaving downtown Kelowna.

By doing these trips you'll visit 3 of the most popular Kelowna parks - Rose Valley, Kalamoir and Knox Mountain. The first 2 parks on that list are in West Kelowna, on the far side of the William R. Bennett bridge from Kelowna city centre, and the final park - Knox Mountain - is due north of downtown and is arguably the most famous outdoor destination in the Okanagan. The abundant flora and forna (not to mention the scenery) mean that these really are the ideal trips to enthuse your kids with a love of hiking and the pleasures of nature.

Whether you're a young hiker, an old one, or just someone looking for an easy stroll and some lovely views, we've got you covered!
