Description

Western North Carolina—and Brevard in particular—attracts riders from across the continent yearning to ride its brutally-technical fall line trails. But what if you want to visit this fabulous mountain bike destination without risking life and limb in the process? Well, I have the perfect selection of trails for you!

The three trails listed in this guidebook all provide superb singletrack mountain biking, but they forgo the constant barrage of roots, rocks, drops, and washouts in favor of well-maintained, flowy singletrack.

While closer to Asheville than it is to Brevard, the Bent Creek Beginner Loop is hands-down the easiest trail on this list. Up next, the Ridgeline flow trail may be the most fun you can have on a beginner trail! Finally, Bracken Preserve offers up steep Pisgah-style climbing and descending, but on singletrack that stays quite smooth and flowy.
