Description

The route begins at the Felskinn mountain station and leads the hiker across the Fee and Chessjen glaciers to the Egginerjoch (see the information provided by the mountain railways and tourist offices on the condition of the trail).

At the Egginerjoch the path branches off to the right and leads along the rock face to the end of the plateau.

At the turn-off at Heidefridhof the path continues in a northerly direction.

Attention, the path leads over many screes and stone slabs.

Pay attention to the markings.

The trail ends at Plattjen directly under the Mittaghorn.

The mountain restaurant Plattjen Terminus with its view of Saas-Fee and Saas-Grundlädt is a great place to stay. The insider tip on the way is a rest at the Swiss stone man at the Brandgrabe under the Mittaghorn.

From this vantage point the hiker has a unique view of the entire Saas Valley and also the Mattmark Lake and the Bietschhorn. equipment * Good footwear * outdoor clothing * Weather dependent clothing: always carry a waterproof jacket with you. * Headgear * Sun protection * Water bottle * provision/food * Binoculars (optional) * Camera * Hiking poles (optional) * Map/ printout of the trail (click on "Print" to download) * First aid kit
