The scenic ascent to the Maighelshütte (2310 m a.s.l.) in the border region of Graubünden and Uri leads from the Oberalp Pass (2046 m a.s.l.) moderately ascending through the Val Maighels to the Urlaunsee. The ascent begins at the Oberalp Pass and leads from the vicinity of the road up to a height of approx.
1980 m above sea level.
Now it is well signposted and marked in the direction of Maighelshütte/Lai da Tuma, first level, then slightly ascending along the eastern flank of the Pazolastock until one crosses the young Rhine below the Lai da Tuma. Soon one reaches the Urlaunsee (Lai Urlaun) and after a short ascent the Maighelshütte (2310 m above sea level) on the flank of the Piz Cavradi.
From the hut you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Maighels glacier and Piz Ravetsch.
The hut is also an ideal starting point for hikes of several days in the direction of Ticino, Capanna Cadlimo and Val Piora or to the Vermigelhütte and Andermatt. equipment * Clothing according to the weather * Good footwear * Hiking poles are recommended
