Description

Engledive is an uncrowded black-diamond trail accessed by Prospector and Looking Glass Lifts, and one of the best bump runs on Winter Park Mountain because of its perfect fall line and lack of crowds.

There are spacious trees in the beginning, where it's not very steep, and trees on the right side and middle of the trail where it widens out at the end.

Watch out for a service road that intersects the trail near the top, as the drop can surprise you on a powder day.

From mid to later season Engledive will get groomed on the left side. The trail is named for George Engle, who began as a ski patroller in 1946.

He owned and operated the Winter Park Ski School until he sold it to the resort in 1982.

He was inducted into the Colorado Ski Hall of Fame in 1987, and operated a ski shop in the town of Winter Park with his wife, Joyce, until 1998.
