Description

From the car park for hikers, follow the signs and follow the forest road into the valley to a wood storage area and continue on the forest road towards Lechneralm.

The forest road can soon be shortened on a path (signposted Massingsattel).

After a good hour the Lechneralm is reached.

Increasingly panoramic, one hikes over alpine meadows and through steep mountain forests on the path towards the summit, which is partly not very well-trodden but nevertheless clearly visible.

The view of the rocky outcrops of the Stone Sea is enormous: from close up, the rugged spikes look even more impressive than from the valley.

After about two hours one has reached the small summit plateau lined with mountain pines and can enjoy the contrast: On one side the mighty Selbhorn and on the other the gentle forms of the Pinzgauer Grasberge.

The descent follows the same path or a little further, but flatter over the Massingsattel (mark 427).

With both variants you have the possibility to have a final stop at the Lechneralm. equipment *Hiking equipment:* sturdy shoes, fleece jacket or sweater, rain protection, sunglasses, sun cream, sun protection for the head, bandages (plaster), hiking map, mobile phone, sufficient liquid, hiking poles.
