Description

Lake Peak Chute is a beautiful run high up in the heart of the Wasatch.

The chute itself is only 700-800 feet long, but the pitch is consistent in the 40 degree range and there are fun roll overs and trees to ski through and finish out a great run with amazing views and ambiance.

To approach, park at the White Pine Trailhead and follow the trail that follows an old road grade up into the drainage.

Take a left at the first junction and you'll wind up through some switchbacks and then up into the upper valley.

From here start trending to the right through the valley floor.

The higher you go, the better the stream crossing will be.

Gain elevation and work through the trees until you hit the lake.

From here you can boot directly up the chute, or follow the ridge to the lookers right.

This second option is often the safer option since the chute can form a large cornice that is easier to manage from above than from tunneling through.
