Description

This is a memorable day to the summit of the biggest peak in the area, also traversing 2 cols.

As an additional bonus there is nearly 2000m of descent to finish off down to our starting point in Vent.

From the hut head N onto the Grosser Vernagt Glacier.

Follow this easily up to the Brochkogeljoch at 3423m.

It is nearly flat the other side to get round a rocky spur, before then skinning more steeply to where you leave your skis at the base of the SW ridge of the summit.

Bootpack up the mixed rocky ridge to the top and revel in the amazing 360 degree panorama, from your summit at 3770m.

Reverse down the ridge you just came up, then enjoy a short ski down to the Mitterkarjoch col, descending very steeply, but not for long,on the far side onto the Mitterkar Glacier.

This is initially facing SW, then S and SE, all the way down to Vent hopefully on perfect powder at the top and perfect spring snow at the bottom.

Congratulate yourself for your big day to the highest summit and the huge descent to top off an amazing week
