Description

Like West Ridge Chute B, Chute A is more of a face than a chute.

It starts at the False Summit along the hike to the summit of the Throne.

This is a good run for non-experts hoping to challenge themselves, but requires a short ten-minute hike up the ridge.

Since this is the first run from the Throne hike, it often tracks out early.

Mine the treed edges for deeper snow.

Watch for the traverse track, as well as those on the traverse, below the upper portion of this face.

Once in the open bowl, stay to the left to avoid the cedar bench, which is rocky and steep and often requires mandatory air.
