Description

Part 1 The hike starts at Oberried railway station and first follows a path towards Niederried.

After about 200m, it follows a road for a short section and then turns right again on to a mountain trail.

This climbs steadily, leading across the Louwigraben and Spätigraben ravines to a beautiful flower meadow called Chalberweidli.

From here it's only a short distance to the Ryshüttli and the Wang/Äbnit dry grassland, which also won the Cultural Landscape Award in 2010.Your hike to Ryshüttli is rewarded with tranquillity and splendid views of Lake Brienz and the surrounding mountains.

The hike then continues up a steep trail to Blasenhubel, at 1965 metres above sea level. Part 2 Then follows the hike up to the Augstmatthorn (2.137m), on a marked trail that is tricky and exposed but well secured with chains.

On the other side, the trail leads gently down to the Suggiturm (2,085m) and then more steeply down to the branch off to Niederried. #Note(s)# The annual Cultural Landscape Award is presented to particularly beautiful and valuable cultural landscapes in the Oberland Ost region.

Through support and image cultivation on the part of tourism, the award is intended to give farmers a small incentive to continue sustainable management and thus contribute to preserving the beauty of our natural world. *¶ So lake ¶ Interlaken Tourism Height path 37 CH-3800 Interlaken Phone: +41 (0)33 826 53 00 E-mail: mail@interlakentourism.ch Internet: www.interlaken.ch/wandern Internet Cultural Landscape Award: www.kulturlandschaftspreis.ch equipment
