Description

This is a beautiful open off-piste run in a quiet part of the ski area.

Most of the skiing is on sunny, grassy slopes at fairly low altitude, so be aware of the state of the snowpack and avoid the area on warm afternoons or sunny days after fresh snow.

The route ends at a small hamlet away from the lifts, so to avoid a walk back up the road, it's worth leaving a car at La Chapelle St Giraud before you start.

Starting from the top of the Fontfroide chair on the Signal de l'Homme, traverse around the left (east) side of the summit itself, and head south.

The open slopes on the left can be skied virtually anywhere, and emerge at a track which serves the hamlet of Cluy - follow the track back down to the main road at La Chapelle St Giraud.

Alternatively, keep skiing south across the summit plateau to emerge above a large south-facing slope directly above the main Romanche valley.

Choose a line down here to finish directly at the chapel.
