Description

Following South Pass Traverse from Sublette you will encounter two sharp switchbacks.

Just after the second switchback keep an eye on your right for the narrow bowl (just before a blind corner).

This pocket is the top of Buffalo Bowl.

Drop into the run here and experience a long consistent pitched run with no major obstacles.

The skier’s right flank will often hold better snow as it’s protected from the sun and wind scour, but on a powder day anywhere is a go.

If you’re not interested in taking the Union Pass Quad, or are pressed for time, traverse hard skier’s left about two/thirds of the way down to ensure you make it back to the base area.

Otherwise, take the run all the way to the Union Pass Quad and rest your weary legs.
