Description

The Alta Via Dolomiti 2 is characterised by its tough climbs, gorgeous scenery, and for being veiled in myth and mystery.

It’s also known as the “Way of the Legends” because it runs through many mountains and valleys rich in folklore.

For instance, you'll walk the paths of the Ladin characters who have their mythical kingdom on the striking Odle cliffs.

You’ll also need to watch your step in the remote Vette Feltrine peaks, which are said to have been inhabited for centuries by devils, witches, and ogres! If mythology is not your thing, there are plenty of other sources of wonder along the 14-day trail from Alta Badia in the north to Val di Fassa in the south.

The route passes through the stunning Puez-Geisler Nature Park, coils around the lower slopes of the Marmolada, the highest mountain in the Dolomites, and crosses the magnificent Sella Massif.

Throughout the 185km of trail, you will hike through everything from lunar landscapes, high planes, and vast pastures.

Fluctuating between 2000 and 3000 metres of altitude, the path ascends steeply from emerald green valleys all the way up to jagged rock spires piercing the sky.

This 14-day hike is truly the adventure of a lifetime! Fortunately, it is not so populated (in comparison to Alta Via 1), which makes for a peaceful hiking experience, fully immersed in nature.
