Description

Sun Bowl is a Squaw Valley classic.

It's a huge bowl off of the top of Headwall chair with amazing views of Lake Tahoe, Granite Chief Wilderness and Alpine Meadows.

Turn left off of the top of Headwall Chair and take an immediate right under the rocks and traverse right until you see a line you like.

Sun Bowl gets great corn skiing in the spring.

It has a nice consistent pitch and is occasionally groomed.

You can also enter lower down off of Bullet and then the run won't be as long or as steep.

At the bottom prepare for a long traverse to the left above the ski area boundary signs.

The traverse can make it difficult for snowboarders to get out.

The traverse ends at the Bullet, where you can access the Bullet, the Horse Trails or the Hourglass area.
