Description

Brakeman is a short expert bump run near the bottom of Mary Jane Mountain that is accessed off Challenger Lift (C-Lift) via Derailer.

It spills out onto Corona Way, a blue groomer that leads to the base.

This run is more south-facing and lower in altitude, so it gets slushy later in day during the spring, and can be rock hard in morning.

But on a cold pow day, all the locals ski and ride under C-Lift while waiting for Panoramic Lift to open.

Brakemen were old-fashioned rail transport workers who applied brakes to a train by slowing down each individual car by hand.
