Description

In the summertime, mountain bikers descend upon Deer Valley, thanks to its world-class downhill trails.

But not every trail is overrun by the riders—some are reserved just for foot traffic, making them better for running.

Ontario Canyon and Silver Lake are two such trails.

They both start from Silver Lake Lodge and reach the top of Bald Mountain, together making a full-value loop with a rewarding summit.

As the name implies, the top of Bald Mountain grants 360-degree views of Utah’s mountains. The loop can be run in either direction.

Ontario Canyon starts out more gradually, so begin with that trail if you don’t want a steep climb right away.

Both trails spend most of their time under a shady canopy of rustling aspens and stately conifers, but they emerge occasionally onto grassy ski runs and open meadows.

You’ll enjoy a nice mix of scenery on this moderately challenging mountain run.

Don’t miss the opportunity to catch your breath and take in the views at clearings and on the airy summit. Sources: https://www.visitparkcity.com/blog/post/five-park-city-hikes-with-the-best-nature-views/ http://blog.deervalley.com/a-guide-to-deer-valley-resort-hiking/
