Description

C Chute is more of an open bowl, and it’s one of the easier ways to get down from the Alphabet Chutes (nicknamed “Alpha Chutes” by the locals).

There are still rocks to watch out for, but it’s not as technical as the other Alpha Chutes.

This is a brief but exhilarating ride down! To hike to Alphabet Chutes from South Headwall takes another 10-20 minutes depending on snow conditions and how far you want to traverse over.

Snow at the top of the Cirque can be windblown and crusty, with creamier snow below in the trees.

This area is not open very often.

Your best best is later in the season, like February/March.
