Another mythical stage of the Route des Grandes Alpes which will bring you to theCol d'Izoard (2360 m).

Analysing terrain data

Briançon marks the beginning of the southern part of the Route des Grandes Alpes.

And to confirm this change of scenery, nothing better than to challenge Col d'Izoard! After crossing the city, the road climbs quickly to Izoard (2360 m).

The slope is relatively regular in the "north-south" direction and, as you approach the pass, the passage to the Napoleon refuge marks the last kilometer before reaching the summit. After the Izoard, you enter the massive Queyras.

, with the passage of the famous "Casse Déserte" and its atypical mineral environment where almost nothing grows apart from funny rocky peaks...

The continuation of the route through the Queyras, agricultural land, seems to take us to the end of the world.

A splendid discovery made of beautiful valleys, flooded with light and bathed in authenticity, with a must, Château-Queyras, former castle of the XIIIth century.

The stage ends in Guillestre, a pretty colorful town.
