Description

This loop combines a few trails to encircle a hill right next to Park City.

It makes a convenient and scenic workout if you are staying in Old Town or anywhere nearby.

The loop has a few different access points, but all are along residential roads with very limited parking.

There is one place to park at a trailhead on Aerie Drive, but it fits no more than three cars.

Better to start your run from elsewhere in town if you can. From Aerie Drive, begin on Lost Prospector Trail for a gradual ascent overlooking Old Town.

Masonic Trail and Gambel Oak Trail are the two others that complete this loop.

The route is nicely varied, with ups and downs through stands of young forest and hillside meadows, and good views most of the time.

Most of the track is packed dirt that’s somewhat rocky, but at one point, you must join a neighborhood street for a short distance.

Shade is limited, so go early if you expect a hot day. Sources: https://mountaintrails.org/pc-trail-system/east-old-town/
