A classic Basque Mountain by an uncommon path.

Starting by Bordazar it mean to enjoy the Iparla mountain from A to Z.

You start in the forest at the bottom of the crests, where a river runs thought it, then path following sheep fields to lead you on a narrow path hanging on the crests, an aerial part impressive for dizzy people, then you start climbing crests by Iparla pass to get on the top.

Here, the abrupte profile of the crests, make beautiful landscape at the bottom of it and Pyrenean vulture are always here to make the show, you’ll see sheep in fields and small villages all around where smoke from chimneys gently rises.

Avec ce profil de canyon, j’ai toujours trouvé cette montagne grandiose ! Via cet itinéraire, en l’attaquant de front par le versant est, on en prend toute la mesure.

Tout au long de la randonnée, des paysages riches s’offrent à nous.

On commence par la forêt et son ruisseau puis, on enchaîne sur des pentes herbeuses au fort dénivelé.

Un replat nous offre une magnifique vue sur les silhouettes des montagnes pyrénéennes.

On enchaîne sur la dernière partie où un passage aérien sur le versant est précède un couloir étroit et très raide jusqu’au sommet.

Le pic d’Iparla est un des premiers mille mètres depuis l’océan et, à ce titre, offre une belle vue sur les pics du Béarn et de Bigorre, ainsi que sur les villages en contrebas.
