Description

To reach High Yellow face, take either the Alpine Bowl or Summit Express Lifts.

Take the High Traverse Trail hiking from either the top of the Alpine Bowl Chair (exit left) or up the ridge from the Summit Six Chair toward the Lower Saddle.

Ski through the Lower Saddle.

Traverse around the far end heading to the south (skier right).

Continue around the high point to your left until you are looking back down toward the front side of Alpine Meadows.

To the skier’s left is High Yellow Face which is a little more of an open slope.

To your right is High Yellow Gully which is narrower.

Both are steep and exciting for experts.

This run is another steep classic at Alpine for experts when the snow is good.

Head here on powder days or when the wind blown snow makes for a smooth chalk like surface.

Stay away from these steep slopes when the surface is firm.

This run receives a lot of windblown snow from the usual storm patterns.
