Description

Franklin Dump sits just to the skier's left of the Upper Little Nell run down into the town of Aspen.

It is often overshadowed by the double black Niagara as an option for getting another fun run in as you make your way back into town.

However, this is the author's favourite.

When there is enough snow, this steep, short and tight double diamond offers challenging, fast skiing and an off the beaten path option for experts only.

The run begins with a steep drop-in from the cat track, beware of thin coverage, as you continue to make jump turns down a series of tiers or small ledges which are good for practising your fast turns and airs over.

The run-out is generally smooth, however moguls exist, as you cruise back out and catch the lower Little Nell back to the gondola.
