Nice crossing with easy access and moderate difficulties. It is one of the great classics of the massif, hence the high number of visitors in summer. Magnificent view of the Mont Blanc massif

Description

[img=215091 right/] ##Approach # 1h From the Index chairlift, take a wide path towards the combe des aiguilles Crochues, which you leave at the level of a small lake that you go around to the left.

We then go around a large rocky spur under the needle of the Floria.

We then find paths that go up the valley.

The pass marking the start of the crossing is located at point 2704 m, on the right of the Gaspard Point rock spur (not named on IGN) where there are seals marking the start of equipped tracks on the face.

Do not enter the corridors to the left of the Gaspard Point spur.

A good trail climbs at the foot of this spur and continues to the pass.

Just under the pass, you come up against a rocky ridge that you can easily climb up to the right through a cat flap.

The corridor (slope at 45/50°) can be covered with snow at the beginning of the season. ##Itinerary From the pass, do not take the edge wire, but rock towards NW and head towards [[images/215091|of an obvious 30m cracked dihedral]] that you climb up to a good terrace (3c/4a, 3 peaks). Go up easy stacks and by turning on the N side, aim for a breach to reach a wall giving access to the edge.

Go up (III) and pass by pouring S, follow a path for 5 m and go up a short cracked dihedral to join the edge wire that is easily followed, either on one side or the other (III). Join a short wall and then easy turns on the N side that give access to the main summit.

From it, easily descend into the next gap and go up the thread of the ridge you are following to the next summit.

Descend NE into a rift and easily ascend to the last summit. ##Descending 2 possibilities, depending on the conditions: 1) Go down towards Lac Blanc towards the Tour des Crochues, which is left on your right to join a steep scree corridor.

Take it down, as well as the next gravel pit, to the path leading back to the Index chairlift.

Descent to be preferred at the end of the season. 2) When the glacier is snow-covered, it is possible to descend on it via the Col des Dards, to then reach Lac Blanc. From Lac Blanc, follow the GR to the Flégère cable car.

_This Adventure has been shared under the [Creative Commons Share Alike](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/) licence._
