Slightly steeper and longer than No Shadows, but just as classic.

Description

Visible from the top of the Tram, Four Shadows is a premier backcountry run in Jackson.

It begins up the ridge from No Shadows past the Triple Cliffs Area.

The run is north/northeast facing and often a real beauty of a ski.

You won’t find much sun on the slope (occasionally the peaks above will present as four shadowed tips in the run depending on time of day and year), and often the upper section is affected by wind.

However, the snow is typically more consistent and softer in the belly of the run.

Access Four Shadows by ascending the Cardiac Ridge Bootpack.

Follow the boot pack past No Shadows and Triple Cliffs, the top of the run is approximately a couple hundred feet past No Shadows.

It’s possible to enter just past the Triple Cliffs, which can be corniced, or by continuing further up the ridge, where the cornice is often smaller.

While exiting the run, you will converge with the exit of No Shadows and either traverse to the skier’s right and the Powder 8 boot pack, or skier’s left of the center of the basin for access to Rock Springs Canyon.
