Description

##Ascent From Pont Serrand 1628 m cross the hamlet and follow as best as you can and at sight a path leading to the Servaz flat, a fairly steep slope at the beginning.

Continue by the snow-covered road in winter until you reach the hairpin at 1810 m Then follow the alpine pasture trail (n°10) on its side at the beginning and down to the end towards a wide valley.

Follow this long valley to the bridge crossing the torrent of Lake Verney at 1933 m.

Leave the track after the bridge and head visually towards the Lechepré mountain pasture to the S.

Then continue towards Lake Verney Dessus (2278 m).

From the lake under the snow in winter climb through a series of rocky bars and micro reliefs by pulling at the NW, on skis do not try to follow the route of the summer path.

The route is not easy but there are always passages to cross the small rocky bars.

From 2550 m pull in the direction of Pointe Rousse to the NE in order to reach the wide Pointe Rousse pass around 2650 m, the pass is not clearly marked, several equivalent passages at altitude separated by nipples allow a passage to reach the Breuil valley.

One of these nipples can offer a beautiful panoramic peak, the purpose of the hike.

##Descending From the pass, go down directly on the SE slope corresponding to the route of the summer path.

The slope gives access to a first valley that continues NE through a series of micro reliefs to the Barmettes.

On the lower part the route follows the bed of the stream, stay on the right bank of this stream.

Aux Barmettes join the long valley bringing back after a small ascent to Servaz. In Servaz it is possible to continue to Pont Serrand following the road of the Petit St Bernard pass, which is often better covered with snow.

The Gpx trail in the appendix follows this route.

_This Adventure has been shared under the [Creative Commons Share Alike](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/) licence._
