A very classic hike, where you are never alone. To be combined with the Glaz hole for a short loop in the afternoon.

Description

##Ascent From the Col du Coq, follow the path that goes N in the forest and crosses it roughly horizontally.

At the end of the forest, join the path that goes up to the Col des Ayes (it is possible to park in the last pin before the Col du Coq and reach the Col des Ayes by the S).

Then take the laces that rise to the E.

*White and red markings.

* At an altitude of about 1650 m, the path splits in two and continues to climb up the front by the right (SE).

Soon reach the first rocky buttresses of the Dent de Crolles to go upwards on the right. Further on, join the valley that descends from Pas de l'Oeille and that the path goes up (a cave largely open marks more or less the start), with 2 passages where to lay your hands may be necessary (a cable over 1-2 meters).

Pass just to the left of a characteristic bitard (the eye), cross the Barrère strap, and finally reach the step of the eye.

The summit is then a few minutes on the right (large metal cross).

*Yellow marking.

* ##Descending The descent can be done by the same path, but it is interesting to take a walk also through[roads/239342|the hole of Glaz]].

_This Adventure has been shared under the [Creative Commons Share Alike](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/) licence._
