Description

## Upward From the Pontet, cross the Bon Nant then follow it for 300 m by the pedestrian path and join the bridge in front of the Notre-Dame-de-la-Gorge chapel (1210 m) and the beginning of the Roman road. Go up this path (often icy, sometimes useful crampons).

Cross the Roman bridge (take a look at the gorge it crosses), the hamlet of Nant Borrant and the long flat of the Rollaz (1530 m).

Continue and join the chalets of La Balme (1706 m).

Climb on the small croup to the SW of the chalets and then towards the S to reach the pylon of the high voltage line (climb well to the left to avoid the flows coming from the needle of the Pennaz on the right).

Go down slightly just behind the pylon and by a short crossing reach the flat of Plan Jovet. Go up this false flat towards the E for a distance of about 1 km, then the rump on the right bank of the stream descending from the Jovet lakes.

It is also possible to climb the left bank by making a loop to the right (a little less steep).

Go along the lakes and climb the last 300 meters by one of the valleys that reaches, to the N, the summit N of the Jovet Mountains.

From the top of the croup, it is possible to continue on the ridge that leads to the summit S (2368 m). ## Descent By the ascent route. The snow is sometimes better when reaching the bottom of the W side of the Tondu: from the top go down by crossing to the E and descend for 250 m one of the valleys that joins the Jovet lakes.

_This Adventure has been shared under the [Creative Commons Share Alike](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/) licence._
