Very often we are satisfied to climb only up to the pass between the Dent de Broc and the Dent du Chamois, the rest of the route being exposed and rarely in good conditions.

FATMAP difficulty grade

####Up Depending on the snow conditions, there are 2 possibilities: - From point 928 (Chamois holiday centre) and go up the clearing directly above then turn left and join the Alpine road around 1200 m. - higher (1000 m) Follow the path until about 1200 m. Then climb up towards the pass between the Dent de Broc and the Dent du Chamois by the combe where the 3 chalets des Groins are located.

For the pass itself, there are often cornices, climb to the right (climb) and then pass through the shoulder that separates the pass itself from a small very steep valley. For the Dent, go up towards the cross (N) to the base of the rocks and then follow a path that runs along the wall to the right by a turn (S) for 100 m.

A corridor then offers itself to climb to the top.

The path overlooks 100 m of grass and cliffs, a slide would not forgive. ####Descending By the same route. ######Variant It is interesting to complete this race with a descent down W to the forest (1240 m).

That adds another 450 m.

The slopes are steeper but not too steep. *Without a vertex (which is the great majority) the ski rating is ~2.3/E1/S2 for pt 928, for pt 1000 it is 1.3/E1. Skiing from the top must be S4/E3, it's very exposed.

_This Adventure has been shared under the [Creative Commons Share Alike]( licence._
