Description

[img=118878 right/] ##Ascent From the refuge, go up to the N and reach the Planpincieux glacier.

Reassemble it by squeezing it under the kidney of the Bottle.

After an area of large crevasses, reach the base of the resting spur.

Leave by a ramp on the right and go up as well as possible following its crest (III to III+).

Cross a wide, steep and exposed corridor towards a rocky dihedral on the descending edge of Whymper Point.

Mount this dihedral (III). From there 3 possibilities: 1.

follow the rocky ridge to the top of Whymper Point (4184 m).

Then pull to the right to reach Walker Point (4208 m). 2.

climb through the snow corridor (45-50°) on the right of the downward edge of Whymper Point. 3.

cross the glacial plateau under the seracs, then climb up the mixed ridge from Walker Point to the top. ##Descending #### On foot From Walker Point, join the ridge of the same name and descend it (mixed).

Pass on the plateau under the seracs, reach the Whymper ridge, descend the dihedral (rappel) then descend by the ascent route to the refuge. #### On skis Steady slopes throughout the route.

Do not underestimate access to the refuge in winter.

Tormented glacier, probably not always passable.

_This Adventure has been shared under the [Creative Commons Share Alike](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/) licence._
