Description

This wide chute is perhaps the most aesthetic couloir in Silver Basin.

Split by a rocky buttress partway down, Threeway Chute #3 offers numerous lines.

This chute is bordered by two rocky outcrops at the top, and it is steepest on the skiers right.

While this is an expert run, it is the easiest chute past Boxcar Cornice, and could be tried by advanced skiers ready to challenge themselves on expert terrain.

Watch for cornices at the top.

This slope avalanches regularly, and like much of Threeway Chutes, does not see much skier compaction.

Ski and ride with a partner.

Ski patrol recommends carrying avalanche equipment in Southback.
