Description

Stauffenberg is the most prominent of the chutes on the early West Basin.

You can't possibly miss it.

The top is a technical rock section with choices of narrow, tight lines through large rocks, or relatively more open ones.

The bottom section is smoother for faster lines and bigger turns.

Just below the narrower center section, there's a 10-foot rock that’s great for a reasonably safe huck.

Stauffenberg is one of the steepest chutes on the mountain and one of the most reliable.

Call it Stauffy if you don't want to sound like a tourist.
