Description

This casual run offers some some quick elevation gain right on the edge of town.

It goes to the top of the hill with the big white letters “PC” for Park City.

The view is amazing, as you would expect, because this landmark hill can be seen from almost anywhere in town. To get there, take Kearns Blvd east out of town, then turn onto an unmarked dirt road across from Prospector Park.

This road runs between the base of the hill and a creek for a short distance, then ends in a big empty lot.

The trail begins from there.

It’s a modest dirt path without much signage or markings.

Just follow the most obvious path uphill. You’ll gain elevation quickly on switchbacks, and the views get better and better as you go.

You’ll see the creek and ponds below, the town in the valley, and the ski resorts on the flanks of the mountains that form the horizon. This trail can be good for running at any time of year because of its sunny slopes.

It tends to melt and dry out quickly, but snowy and/or muddy conditions may exist depending on recent weather.

There is no shade, and most of the trail is south facing, so it’s not the best for hot summer days. Sources: https://www.stayparkcity.com/blog/top-park-city-hikes/
