Description

A narrow couloir, Threeway Chute #1 is the most difficult of these four couloirs.

At a maximum of a 45 degree slope angle at the gut of the couloir, this run is for experts only.

It is also possible to drop into this couloir off the snowy/rock buttress on skiers left, which would require mandatory air.

The main entrance to this couloir is around the backside of this snowy/rock buttress.

Watch for a cornice that forms on either side.

This couloir avalanches regularly.

The entrance is narrow, then as the chute funnels through the narrowest part, it also steepens to 45 degrees or more.

Below this point, the chute opens wide to the basin below.

Ski and ride with a partner and carry proper avalanche gear.
