Exposure

Exposure

The exposure grade does not take into account objective hazards (stone fall, seracs, etc) but only the consequences of the skier falling.

Low Exposure (E1): Exposure is limited to that of the slope itself. Getting hurt is still likely if the slope is steep and/or the snow is hard.

Medium Exposure (E2): As well as the slope itself, there are some obstacles (such as rock outcrops) which could aggravate injury.

High Exposure (E3): In case of a fall, death is highly likely.

Extreme Exposure (E4): In case of a fall, the skier faces certain death.

As well as the slope itself, there are some obstacles (such as rock outcrops) which could aggravate injury.

Description

This run is the first pitch you'll see under the chair when uploading on the Crystal Ridge Express.

Cancer Man is accessible by following the lift line from Backstage Pass/Rock N Roll.

As you'll see from the chair, the main route has a couple of fairly substantial cliffs in it, which would be huckable if there weren't a load of snow-covered fallen trees in the landing.

Scout your route from the chair and don't charge too hard until you know the exact route you intend to take.

Given the visibility of this run under the chair, it is often skied out fairly quickly.

If it looks too used don't worry, there are more fun spots to find in the area.
