Description

A popular open face for non-experts wanting to challenge themselves on Chair 6, Lower Field is some of the easiest terrain in Powder Bowl.

Access from the top of Chair 6, working the ridge across the Upper Field of Powder Bowl, past a small chute bordered by trees.

The ridge is often riddled with moguls and cornices.

It is often best to drop into Powder Bowl's Upper Field and traverse across the top to avoid the ridge proper.

The Lower Field of Powder Bowl is the broad open face between Divider and the trees near Signline Left.

Ski or ride the upper part.

Avoid the treed section partway down as this gets steep and rocky here.

Instead, veer left towards Little Portillo.

Alternately follow the traverse track to Bear Pits for another 500 vertical feet.
