A sports course on a rocky ridge in a very Carusian style. 2:00 to 2:30.

1 - 2

FATMAP difficulty grade

Ridge located between the Pas de la Lauze ravine and the Raziguade ravine.

The ridge itself has no name.

In its middle it has a large gendarme on the 862 side.

No trace of passage, no cairn or markings.

Need for a good sense of the terrain to get around the two heights. At the entrance to Castanet le haut (parking), follow the forest track which goes up on the right bank of the Mare valley.

After 300 m, we pass the concrete ford of the Raziguade stream.

Take the track that follows the creek, and enter the creek bed.

Go up 30 m to enter the forest on the right.

Go up as well as possible by zigzagging among the old walls (painful).

We leave the forest, take the rocky slabs, their route is easier than brooms. Join and follow the edge thread.

Several optional rock passages not exceeding 2. The first big jump is avoided by the right (side not of the Lauze), follow an inclined ramp.

Go down a few meters (2).

The next jump (862) is avoided by a corridor going down to the right (we lose 30 m), we reach a very marked pass.

Attack the last jump by the wire, then avoid it by a wide detour on the right (corridor to go down avoiding several impassable gendarmes).

We reach a beech wood, then broom and moorland slopes before going out to the summit dome. Return: cross the summit dome or follow the forest track to pc 1082.

There pull in the beech forest towards the SW towards the hairpin bend of the D180 (Taillade bank).

To return to the starting point, descend through the Pas de la Lauze ravine.

_This Adventure has been shared under the [Creative Commons Share Alike](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/) licence._
