Description

Starting from the bus station at Hirogawara 広河原, go over the river if necessary, take SW and follow the path just left of the hut. About 2h30m after the start, first hut is encountered (water, toilets, tables with ceiling if it's raining).

Now the path steepens up to the ridge, where the slope is easier but path is then mostly made of stone.

Some passages are equiped with chains. Second hut is ~3h after the second hut, at 3000m mark.

Follow the left side of the hut; Kitadake 北岳 summit is 50min further; enjoy the view on the surronding 3000+m peaks, and if you're lucky, on Fuji-san in SE direction. To go down, continue S, and at first crossroads, take left to take the E ridge.

You'll encounter many wooden stairs, slippery when wet.

At next crossroads, go down the valley at NE direction; snow can be expected at least until July.

After 3h from the summit, you pass below the mid-way hut.

If you want to take a break there, take care to take the good path, as yours is not passing by.

2h30 later, you're back at the starting point.

_This Adventure has been shared under the [Creative Commons Share Alike](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/) licence._
