Description

##Ascending to the Arpette Window From Champex (parking lot of the Breya chairlift) follow the track towards the Relais d'Arpette.

It is also possible to follow a more bucolic path which runs along the bisse first, bringing the water from the Val d'Arpette to Lake Champex. From the Relais d'Arpette 1627 m, the route is obvious, it follows the bottom of the valley by a wide track.

Leave the path for the Breya pass on the left around 1675 m.

Pass a slight jump and take a narrower path at the end of the runway (point 1822 m) (the runway continues towards the upper station of the Breya chairlift). Shortly after the Barme, around 2143 m, take the path to the right, the vegetation gives way to a vast and steeper scree.

In the top of the combe des Cugnons the route is made in a chaos of rocks, the route remains well marked.

This passage is very often covered with a snowfall late in the summer season. ##Descending to Trient Versant Trient the descent must be approached carefully, follow the markings between the boulders.

Quite quickly find a well marked but still steep path.

Pass through the old Vésevey mountain pastures at 2096 m.

The path remains steep and very steep, it is better to stop to admire the landscape under the Trient glacier and the Grands glacier opposite. Arriving at the Glacier chalet at 1553 m.

This is the starting point of the bisse leading to the Col de la Forclaz, a beautiful horizontal path on the side up to the Col, just before the Col it is enough to follow a path going on the left to go down to Trient.

To reach directly the Peuty (Trient) take a path on the left bank of the stream, pass the Pétoudes and arrive at a track that can be driven down to Trient. ####Variant To continue the crossing on the Balme pass, it is possible from the chalet du Glacier to find the path passing through the Grands, the Remoinste and the Herbachères.

_This Adventure has been shared under the [Creative Commons Share Alike](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/) licence._
