Description

**Presentation:** This itinerary leads to the top of the large wall that dominates the entrance to the Quebrada del Navarro at the W, bypassing it by the S.

The route does not present any particular difficulties (a jump to 35°) and offers a splendid route in a very "alpine" landscape for the region. **Itinerary:** From the international road between Puente del Inca and Las Cuevas, locate the old brick refuge (casucha de montana) and cross the Rio de las cuevas (snow bridge or, more acrobatically, the inverted stones - see photo).

Go up the arroyo Navarro on the right bank, passing the large wall that dominates the valley at the W, until the first large flat (approx.

3400 m).

From there, turn towards the W along the cliffs and then the N to bypass peak E.

The route gently climbs up the valley at the foot of the cliffs, crosses a short jump (35°/10m) and continues on moderate slopes to the foot of ridge E of Santa Elena.

The snowy saddle on the right leads to the foot of Pic E (and to the exit of the large central channel on its W side) and the one on the left, a little lower, should allow to reach the N summit of Santa Elena by the ridge (plan to put your hands). Go down the same route again.

_This Adventure has been shared under the [Creative Commons Share Alike](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/) licence._
