Description

##Ascent From Anglette (noted Anglettaz on the IGN), 2 possibilities : - By the little Montoir: Take the path that goes up full S then go down towards the exit of the Petit Montoir (1584 m).

Then join the Parmelan refuge (C.

Dunant) and the head of the Parmelan (The Gpx trace in the appendix corresponds to this option) - By the chalet of Chapeys and Grand Montoir: A hiking signpost indicates the direction of the head of the Parmelan.

Before joining the marked trail, cross cow fields through the Chappeys chalet.

At this same chalet, join the signposted itinerary that allows you to follow the climbing cliffs, passing near the Grotte d'Aviernoz.

Continue until you reach a fork with a path that leads to the foot of a corridor that you will have to climb to reach the Grand Montoir.

This corridor offers exceptional balcony views, but breathtaking.

Sensitive souls abstain.

At the top of the corridor, head towards chalet C.

Dunant (CAF) and the head of Parmelan.

No major difficulties. ##Descending Take the path in the opposite direction up to the exit of the rocky corridor.

Then follow the direction of the chalet of L'Anglettaz.

A path marked in yellow through the Lapiaz, limestone slabs and wooded areas that do not present any major difficulties. ##Descending through the cave of Hell Go down SE until the moment when the path splits in two, do not take the one that goes towards the Pertuis but the one that goes NE towards the Cave of Hell. After crossing the lapiaz, reach a wooded area, either directly on Anglettaz or through the Grotte de l'Enfer, the Fontaine du Tour and the Grande Glacière to return to L'Anglettaz. ## Starting variant: Aviernoz (1030 m) It is possible to extend this hike from Aviernoz, accessible by public transport.

This adds 500 m of altitude difference. From Aviernoz, simply follow the path along and across the road to join the classic itinerary at the Anglettaz chalet.

_This Adventure has been shared under the [Creative Commons Share Alike](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/) licence._
