Description

Bushrat is a steep and fun line along Chainsaw Ridge and is usually the first one people dare to try.

The whole ridge builds a cornice but Bushrat normally has enough traffic to make the entrance constantly visible.

The entrance is a small gap that drops onto a spine.

Once you've dropped in, make sure you stop, as it will either land you on top of Bushrat Shoulder or a cliff band, and you don't want to find out the wrong way! Bushrat is a diagonally left, fairly wide chute that leads down to Couloir Extreme.

The snow usually stays pretty good even several days after a snowfall.

Be careful of traverse lines and avalanche/cornice debris in the bowl, especially as it flattens out.

Cutting left with the traverse lines under Bushrat and Bushwhip gives you access to Faller's Pillow.
